Jackals Finish Off Sixth Sweep

Paterson, NJ - Noah Palmese made his second appearance as a Jackal, getting the start on Thursday. The righty from Florida went three innings allowing just one hit and striking out five Rox hitters.

The Jackals struck first on a safety squeeze from DeAmez Ross that brought home Erick Almonte Jr. for the game’s first run. Brockton got a run in the top of the fourth. Scott Seeker singled to center field off of Grady Gorgen to tie the game.

In the bottom of the fourth, Aneudis Mordán singled to center, giving New Jersey the lead. Almonte Jr. walked, bringing home a second run. Ross came to the plate and lined a double to left-center field, clearing the bases and putting up a five spot for the Jackals.

New Jersey used four arms out of the bullpen to finish the game, as Breyln Jones pitched for the first time in 16 days completing the sweep in the ninth.

The Jackals will welcome in the Sussex County Miners for a crucial weekend series. It will be a four-game series as the two teams will play a doubleheader on Friday as Sonny Fauci will pitch for New Jersey. First pitch on Friday for game one is set for 6:35 pm at Hinchliffe Stadium.
