Paterson, NJ- The Jackals returned home coming off 18 runs in two days against the Capitales and failed to score a run at home for the first time this year. New Jersey fell 1-0 as Drew Henderson threw seven brilliant innings.
Connor Maryniak came off the 14-day Injured List and got the start. The righty who had been dealing with some discomfort went two innings and only gave one run on two hits.
Stephen DiTomaso homered on the second pitch of the game to right field over the screen monster to put Down East up 1-0. Maryniak rolled a pair of double plays to end the first and the second innings, both of the 4-6-3 variety. Henderson rolled a double play of his own to end the first.
The Jackals mustered up just four hits across seven innings against Henderson who upped his scoreless streak against New Jersey to 13 straight innings.
Four men out of the bullpen pitched seven scoreless innings for the Jackals allowing just three hits. In the ninth, the Jackals got the lead off man on but Isaac Bellony popped out to second to end the ballgame.
The Jackals will look to break a five game losing streak on Wednesday against the Bird Dawgs with first pitch set for 6:35 pm.
