REYES OF LIGHT: JACKALS SIGN ANOTHER FORMER MAJOR LEAGUE PLAYER

Little Falls, NJ – The New Jersey Jackals have announced the signing of former Major League infielder Argenis Reyes for the 2010 season. Reyes becomes the second former Major League player to be signed by the Jackals in the last month.

In 2009, Reyes played for the Buffalo Bisons, the Triple-A affiliate of the New York Mets. In 101 games, Reyes had a .282 AVG with 19 doubles, four triples, and three home runs. Reyes’ was called up to the New York Mets and played in nine games.

“We are extremely excited to have Argenis for the 2010 season.” Commented Manager Joe Calfapietra. “He will be a great addition to the team and we hope his experience in the Major League will translate into leadership in the clubhouse.”

Reyes made his Major League debut in 2008 with the New York Mets where he appeared in 49 games. Reyes made his professional debut in 2001 with the Cleveland Indians organization. Over his nine-year career in the minors, Reyes has a .287 AVG with 115 doubles, 33 triples and 12 home runs.
